Smart Media Converter
The GST-806B60 is a Bi-Directional Smart Gigabit Media Converter that showcases plug and play technology and smart media conversion. The GST-806B60 lengthens the distance of communication with Gigabit performance through the fiber optic cable. The unit features media conversion between 10/100/1000Base-T and 1000Base-LX interfaces and operate for a variety of fiber optic applications.
The GST-806B60 offers Auto MDI/MDI-X on the DIP switch and TP to efficiently configure smart functions. The unit also features functions such as the Link Loss Carry Forward function which operates with the Link Loss Return feature. These functions manage the network and tell administrators issues with the media link to provide for efficient network solutions.
Managing the converter requires Planet’s MC-1610MR/MC-1610MR48, a 19-inch Web Smart 16-Slots Media converter chassis from PlanetTechUSA.com to remotely monitor its status through the management-interface of the chassis. The chassis allows for local and remote management through the RS-232 console and web interface. The GST-806B60 features media conversion between 10/100/1000Base-T and 1000Base-LX interfaces.
