The WGSW-24040R offers 24 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports with 4 shared Gigabit SFP slots. The unit features a high performing switch architecture with the ability to offer non-blocking switch fabric and wire-speed throughput up to 48Gbps. The simple user friendly interfaces allow the unit to be a great choice for ISP to craft innovative IPv6 networks.

 

Superior Layer 2 Functions

The WGSW-24040R can be efficiently programmed for even greater switch management functions. These functions include the following: port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, private VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree protocol (MSTP), Layer 2 to Layer 4 QoS, bandwidth control and IGMP Snooping. The WGSW-24040R unit includes 802.1Q Tagged VLAN with permitted groups at a maximum of 256. Through aggregation of supporting ports, the unit permits operation of a high-speed trunk that combines many ports. It allows up to 12 groups of 16 ports for trunk with fail-over support.

 

Versatile Choice For Extension

The unit features two mini-GBIC slots that are built into the WGSW-24040R and supports Dual-Speed, 100Base-FX and 1000Base-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber-optic modules. Administrators have the ability to select the ideal SFP transceiver based on the transmission distance or speed. Range can be extended to 550 meters with multi-mode fiber and up to above 10/50/70/120 kilometers with single-Mode fiber or WDM fiber.
