The Planet GT-802S60 is a Gigabit media converter that converts 10/100/1000BASE-T copper to 1000BASE-LX fiber, featuring a single-mode SC interface at 1310nm with a maximum distance of 60km over 9/125μm fiber. The RJ45 port supports auto-MDI/MDI-X and 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation over Cat5/5e/6 up to 100m, and the unit supports jumbo frames up to 9K bytes.
The converter includes a DIP switch to enable or disable Link Fault Passthrough (LFP), which combines LLCF and LLR functions: LLCF disables the fibre transmit link when the copper link fails, while LLR disables the fiber transmit link when the fiber link is lost, ensuring both ends detect failures for fast network troubleshooting. LED indicators show PWR, TP link/activity, 1000Mbps speed, and fibre link/activity status.
The compact metal housing (70 × 97 × 26 mm, 0.2kg) operates from 0–50°C with 5–95% RH and stores from -10–70°C, powered by a 5V/2A DC adapter (sold separately).
