Product Overview

The GeoVision GV-IO Box 8 Port V1.20 is an 8-input / 8-output expansion module with USB PC connectivity, supporting dry and wet contact sensors 9–30V AC/DC, and Normally Open relays. Up to 9 units can be linked via address selection. Note: Ethernet is not supported on this model (use 8E version).

Key Features

The GV-IO Box 8 provides 8 inputs and 8 relay outputs for integrating sensors and controlling external devices such as alarms, lights, or door strikes. Inputs support both dry contact and wet contact sensors (9‑30V AC/DC). Up to 9 GV‑I/O Box devices (4/8/16 models) can be daisy‑chained via address selection (0‑9, A‑F) for large‑scale I/O expansion.

Technical Context

The unit connects via USB (max 30V DC, 3A) for direct PC interface, with optional Ethernet connectivity available on the 8E model only (not supported on this V1.20 version). It is compatible with GV‑System version 8.2 or above and supports Windows XP/Vista/7/8/Server 2008 (32‑bit) and Windows 7/8/Server 2008 R2/Server 2012 (64‑bit). The Firefox browser is not supported.

Installation Notes

Measures 135 × 28 × 145 mm, operates from 0‑50°C with 5‑95% RH, and requires 12V DC, 1A power. Relay ratings are 30V DC, 3A (USB) and 125/250V AC 3A / 30V DC 3A (RS‑232). Address selection uses 0‑9, A‑F, with 120 ohm terminal resistance for RS‑485 communication, and drivers are required for Windows OS installation.
