The CD16 Miniature Carrier Demodulator is designed to deliver a 0 to ±5 V DC output from a variable reluctance transducer, operating from an unregulated 9 to 55 V DC power supply. A 5 kHz square wave excitation is supplied to the transducer, and the solid-state integrated circuit amplifier and demodulator convert the transducer signal into an analog DC output. Zero and span adjustments can be made via access holes in the case. The CD16 is available with either a 4–20 mA output or an isolated ±5 V DC output. The 4–20 mA version is ideal for long wiring runs between the sensor and receiving instrument.
