Product Overview

Planet GSD-1002M is a managed desktop Gigabit switch with 8 × 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 × 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots, delivering 20Gbps switch fabric and 14.8 Mpps throughput. Features IPv6/IPv4 dual stack management, L2/L4 switching, dual power input (PoE + 12V DC), and compact metal housing for FTTD deployments.

Key Configuration

• Copper ports: 8 × 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45.
• SFP slots: 2 × 100/1000BASE-X SFP with dual-speed support and DDM.
• Switch fabric: 20Gbps non-blocking; throughput: 14.8 Mpps.
• MAC table: 8K entries; shared buffer: 512 KB; jumbo frame support up to 10 KB.
• Dimensions: 191 × 86 × 26 mm; weight: 396 g.

Key Features

The GSD-1002M is a compact managed Gigabit switch with dual power input supporting IEEE 802.3af/at PoE (48–56V DC) or a 12V DC adapter, with hardware failover ensuring uninterrupted operation if one source fails. Housed in a desktop metal case (191 × 86 × 26 mm, 396g), it operates from 0–50°C with 5–95% RH and stores from -20–70°C, consuming up to 10.9W. ESD protection is rated at 6KV, and LEDs indicate power, copper link/activity at 1000Mbps, and SFP link/activity.

Technical Context

The switch supports IPv6/IPv4 dual stack management and includes 2 SFP slots for 100BASE-FX or 1000BASE-SX/LX fiber uplinks up to 120km, enabling FTTD deployments. It offers VLAN features (802.1Q with 256 groups, Q-in-Q, voice, protocol, private VLAN), link aggregation (8 groups with 8 ports per trunk), Spanning Tree (STP/RSTP/MSTP), and multicast with IGMP v2/v3 snooping and MLD v1/v2. QoS provides 8 priority queues with strict or WRR scheduling.

Installation Notes

Security is robust with 802.1X, RADIUS/TACACS+, DHCP snooping, IP source guard, ARP inspection, and ACLs. Management options include Web, Telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, SSH, and SSL, with SFP-DDM for transceiver diagnostics. A reset button offers <5s reboot and >5s factory default restoration. The switch is TAA compliant.
