The Planet POE-TESTER+ is a compact, plug-and-play PoE diagnostic tester that quickly detects IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE voltage over UTP cables and determines PSE type — End-span (Mode A), Mid-span (Mode B), or 4-pair mode — via bi-color LED indicators. The POE-TESTER+ is a plug-and-play diagnostic dongle that detects PoE voltage and identifies PSE type — End-span (Mode A on data pairs 1/2/3/6), Mid-span (Mode B on spare pairs 4/5/7/8), or 4-pair mode (802.3bt/PoH). Bi-color LEDs provide instant interpretation: Left Amber = 802.3at End-span, Left Green = 802.3af End-span, Right Amber = 802.3at Mid-span, Right Green = 802.3af Mid-span, Both Amber = 802.3bt PoE++ or 4-pair 802.3at, Both Green = 802.3af or non-standard force mode.
The tester detects 6 PoE modes, including non-standard force mode, and confirms PoE presence before connecting powered devices to prevent mismatched PSE/PD configuration failures. It operates with input voltages of 37–57V DC (802.3af) and 42–57V DC (802.3at/bt), and is CE and TAA compliant.
The dongle (23 × 70.1 × 22 mm, 24g) plugs directly into any RJ45 outlet or PSE port, operating from 0–50°C with 5–95% RH and storing from -10–60°C. LED indicators illuminate automatically when PoE voltage is detected, with no configuration required.
