Product Overview

The Planet GT-915A is a managed Gigabit media converter with one 10/100/1000BASE-T port and one 100/1000BASE-X SFP slot. It features IPv4/IPv6 management, advanced security with TLS, SSH, and SNMPv3, OAM diagnostics, Link Fault Pass Through (LFP), VLAN/Q-in-Q support, CloudViewer monitoring, and delivers 4Gbps switching capacity with 16K jumbo frame support in a compact metal enclosure.

Key Configuration

  • • Copper port: 1 × 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 (auto-MDI/MDI-X)
  • • Fiber port: 1 × 100/1000BASE-X SFP slot (SFP module required, sold separately)
  • • Switch fabric: 4Gbps; throughput: 2.98 Mpps @ 64 bytes
  • • MAC address table: 1K entries; jumbo frame: 16K bytes; shared buffer: 512Kb
  • • VLAN: 802.1Q tag-based (16 groups, 4094 VLAN IDs), 802.1ad Q-in-Q, management VLAN
  • • Power: DC 5V, 2A; consumption: 3.4W max
  • • Dimensions: 94 × 70 × 26 mm; weight: 201g

Key Features

Managed Gigabit media converter with secure web, SNMPv3, SSHv2, and TLS management. Supports Link Fault Pass Through (LFP), OAM diagnostics, VLAN/Q-in-Q, bandwidth control, SFP-DDM monitoring, and PLANET CloudViewer remote management. Designed for flexible copper-to-fiber connectivity with support for long-distance fiber links.

Technical Context

The GT-915A combines media conversion with advanced network management, enabling secure monitoring, fault detection, traffic segmentation, and remote diagnostics. Features such as LFP, OAM, and jumbo frame support improve reliability and performance in enterprise, campus, and service provider networks.

Installation Notes

Metal enclosure (94 × 70 × 26 mm, 201g) operating from 0°C to 50°C. Supports wall mounting, optional DIN-rail installation, or deployment in PLANET media converter chassis. Requires a 5V DC power adapter and an SFP transceiver (both sold separately). Fiber reach depends on the installed SFP module, supporting distances up to 120km.
